These are some questions we may ask as we delve into the different ways in which we show up in the world and the different parts of ourselves we reveal or hide.

Move, Draw, Write, Engage

Movement, drawing, and writing work and play off of each other in various combinations. They are windows into our thoughts and feelings, often revealing what was previously shuttered off from ourselves.

These expressive arts are tools for self-expression and discovery.

I will design personalized expressive arts sessions for your specific focus.

Move

Movement is foundational to life. We move all the time, but often feel uncomfortable in our bodies. In Life - Art sessions we start with levels of movement that build trust and comfort. When we move our bodies, our thoughts also move. We can gain new perspectives. The arts are a lens through which we can view our lives with new eyes.

Draw

We create imagery from our movements

our drawings reflect our stories

No

Write

If my drawing could speak, what would it say?

Journaling usually comes out of our movements and drawings. We write down our reflections, poetry, dialogues which we can then weave back into our movements and drawings. If my moving body and drawing spoke to each other, what would they say?

Engage

Engage with others through dialogue, partner and group sharing and debriefing. When we engage in this work with others, we see that each of us has a unique way of expressing ourselves.

Artistic expression can connect people in ways that words fall short. We may be able to express through movement, drawing, poetry, music that which we are not able to express through talking alone.
